MUSIC (Applause) JERRY: Thank
you everyone in the audience here today. Appreciate you being
with us. And all of you at home, thank you for joining our
broadcast. What a joy it is to come to you each and every week
with lessons from the Word of God that are designed to make a
winner out of you, a winner in life in every area of your life.
I like to say that when we’re winning in life, it makes the
God we serve attractive. Praise God. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY:
We’ve been talking about the favor of God, walking in divine
favor. It’s a subject that I’ve taught many times on this
broadcast but it’s just one of those subjects you can’t hear
enough. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: Why? Because faith comes
by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. If you–if you’re
not experiencing the favor of God in your life, then I want
you to listen very closely and allow the Word you hear today to
inspire and energize your faith. And then after this broadcast is
over, I want you to walk around, spending the rest of your day,
whatever you’re doing, and I want you to let it come out of
your mouth. You see, this is the way it comes to past. You decree
a thing, and it shall be established unto thee. AUDIENCE:
Yes. Amen. JERRY: Go around talking all day, “The favor of
God is on my life.” AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: “Thank God
his favor is on my life.” AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Go to bed
with it on your mind. Get up in the morning with it on your mind
and get up expecting the favor of God to show up in ways you
have never experienced before. AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Amen?
Praise God. At the close of last week’s broadcast, we were
talking about what favor is. And I want to go over those once
again very quickly. Number one, it’s God granting good will to
you. It’s God granting his good will to you. Number two, it’s
God bestowing his love on you as a token of his regard toward you
or for you. It’s God bestowing his love on you as a token of
his regard for you. And then number three, it represents
preferential treatment. When the favor of God’s on your life, you
can begin to expect preferential treatment. AUDIENCE: That’s
right. JERRY: You don’t even have to demand it. God will just
make it happen. Praise God. AUDIENCE: Yes. Amen. JERRY:
Amen. Preferential treatment. I remember last year at my wife’s
birthday, she wanted me to take her to San Francisco. She’d
never been to San Francisco. I’d been there many times. And so we
went to San Francisco and she wanted to do all the things you
do in San Francisco. You got to go to the Golden Gate Bridge.
You got to ride the cable car. You know, you got to go to
Fisherman’s Wharf and all those things, you know? So
we’re–we’re doing all that, and we’re loving it. And we went out
on the seawall there, and there was a particular restaurant we
wanted to eat at. And when we got there, the line was so long,
man, it was–it was just out the door and–and–and back around
the corner. And I said, “Looks like an opportunity for the
favor of God.” Hallelujah. (Laughter) You know, and so
we’re standing there. We’re just confessing the favor of God. In
a little while, they decided to form another line, and they put
us at the front of the other line. AUDIENCE: Yes. Amen.
JERRY: What a coincidence. Oh, come on, that’s the favor of
God. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: Hallelujah. JERRY: Amen. The
favor of God–number four, the favor of God will give you
advantage. “Advantage” means that you have something working
for you that the rest of the world doesn’t know anything
about. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: You know what one of the
definitions of “advantage” is in the–in the dictionary?
It’s defined as “a superior position.” A superior position,
that’s what the favor of God will produce. Now, I’d like for
you to open your Bibles, if you will, to Psalm 103. Psalm 103.
In this Psalm, beginning in Verse 1, it talks about–in
fact, the little title under Psalm 103 in my Bible says, “The
Benefits of the Lord.” How many of you know there are benefits
to serving God? AUDIENCE: That’s right. Yeah. JERRY: There are
some great things that God has in store for us. Verse 1 says,
“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his
holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, forget not all his
benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth
all thy diseases; Who redeems your life from destruction; who
crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy.” Now,
loving-kindness, once again, is symbolic of the favor of God. So
notice one of the benefits of serving God, of living your life
for him–one of the benefits is he crowns your life with his
favor. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: Number–Verse 5 says,
“Who satisfies thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth
is renewed like the eagle’s.” See, you need to go around
and–and start talking the benefits of the Lord.
Begin talking about how that he forgives your iniquities, he
heals your diseases, he’s redeemed your life. He’s crowned
your life with favor. He satisfies your mouth with good
things, and your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Now,
notice in Verse 8 it says, “And the Lord is merciful and
gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” Religion wants you to feel inferior.
Religion wants you to feel guilt and shame and condemnation. But
the Bible says, “There’s no condemnation to those that–that
are in Christ.” Praise God. So he’s not mad at us. In fact,
right here it says, “He is slow to anger.” You’d have to do a
whole lot to get him angry. In fact, this anger that the
Bible’s talking about here is not even for you or toward you.
He–he–he’s not mad at you. Actually, the New Living
translation says he’s “filled with unfailing love.” The
Message Translation says, “He doesn’t treat us as our sins
deserve.” Hallelujah. Isn’t that great? You know, if you want to
talk about what you deserve, I wish you wouldn’t. AUDIENCE:
(Laughter) Come on. JERRY: What you deserve is the devil’s hell.
AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: That’s what we all deserved.
But, praise God, because of what Jesus did at Calvary, he has
redeemed our life and we’re not going to get what we deserve
anymore. Praise God. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: We’re going
to get mercy. We’re going to get loving-kindness. We’re going to
get grace. We’re going to get favor. Hallelujah. Come on,
folks. Quit fussing with this and just receive it. AUDIENCE:
Yes. JERRY: Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Just
receive the love of God. It goes on to say that he doesn’t–he
doesn’t treat us as our sins desire, nor pay us back for all
our wrongs. It goes on to say, “So strong is his love to those
who fear and reverence him.” Praise God. Are you somebody
that loves God? Then so strong is his love toward you. In the
literal Hebrew, the word, “gracious,” means “disposed to
show favor.” In other words, that tells us what God’s nature
is like. God’s nature is favorable toward us. In Psalm
5:12, it says, “For thou, Lord, will bless the righteous; and
with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Notice this,
“He will bless the righteous with favor.” Well, we
discovered, in our first lesson a couple of weeks ago teaching
on this subject, that Jesus has made us the righteousness of
God. So that verse is talking about you. He will bless the
righteous with favor. Look at somebody and say, “I have
favor.” AUDIENCE: I have favor. JERRY: Say, “I know I have the
favor of God.” AUDIENCE: I know I have the favor of God. JERRY:
Amen. Why? Because he’s made you to be the righteousness of God.
And notice he says that this favor will compass you. That
means surround you. In fact, that’s what the Amplified Bible
says. It says, “He will surround you with good will (pleasure and
favor).” Praise God. I’m surrounded by the favor of God.
AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: That means everywhere I go, the favor
of God goes with me 24/7. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY:
Praise God. In fact, I like to say, if you get in my sphere of
influence, what’s on me will get on you. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE:
Hallelujah. JERRY: Amen. I walk around with a favor field.
Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: Come on. JERRY: You know, the–there
are–there are some people that are carrier–carriers of
diseases. You get in their presence, you get around them
and stay there very long and what’s on them will get on you.
They’re carriers. Well, I’m a carrier. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY:
You’re a carrier of the favor of God. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE:
That’s right. Amen. JERRY: Praise God. So it surrounds you
every day of your life. Say it with me, “I’m surrounded by his
favor.” AUDIENCE: I’m surrounded by his favor. JERRY: “It’s with
me 24/7.” AUDIENCE: It’s with me 24/7. JERRY: Can you say,
“Amen”? AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: Give the Lord a good shout if
you believe him. AUDIENCE: Hallelujah! JERRY: Ephesians
6:24, the apostle Paul picks up on this truth, and he says this:
“Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in
sincerity.” Now, what do we say about grace when you see the
word, “grace”? Think “favor.” AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY:
So what’s he saying? Favor be to–be with all them that love
the Lord Jesus Christ. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: Do you love
him today? AUDIENCE: Yeah. JERRY: Do you love him today? If
you love him, then Paul is saying, “Favor be with you.”
AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Favor be with you everywhere you go.
Praise God. So if you love him, then the favor of God is with
you. Proverbs 14:9 says, “Among the righteous there is favor.”
How many scriptures am I going to have to give you? Well, I
love giving you every one of them I can find. But it’s pretty
obvious if you read the Bible then you have the favor of God.
AUDIENCE: That’s right. Hallelujah. Yes. JERRY: No doubt
about it. All you got to do is read the Bible. AUDIENCE: That’s
right. JERRY: And here’s another scripture, Proverbs 14:9, “Among
the righteous there is favor.” So I ask the question again. Are
you the righteousness of God? AUDIENCE: Yes, sir. Yes. JERRY:
If you are, then there’s favor in and on your life. Can you
say, “Amen”? AUDIENCE: Amen! JERRY: Now, let’s take a look in
the book of Genesis for a moment. Go with me to Genesis
12, and let’s look at something the Bible says that God said to
Abram, later changing his name to Abraham. The Bible tells us,
in Romans 4, that Abraham is the father of faith, the father of
us all. And let’s see something that God said to our father of
the faith, Abraham, in Genesis 12:1-2. “Now the Lord had said
unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, from thy kindred, from
thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I
will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” Now,
where it says, “I’ll make your name great,” another translation
says, “I will make your name distinguished.” In other words,
“Because of what I’m going to do for you and what I’m going to
put on your life, your name will become distinguished. People
will know about you because of what I’m going to do for you.”
AUDIENCE: That’s good. JERRY: Amen? AUDIENCE: That’s right.
Amen. JERRY: Now, the Amplified Bible here says, “And I will
give you an abundant increase in favors.” Praise God. AUDIENCE:
Amen. JERRY: So notice, God says to Abram, “I’m not only going to
bless you–” Now, the word, “bless,” means empower to
prosper, empower to excel, empower to rise above. That’s
what “bless” means. He said, “I’m not only going to bless
you, but I’m also going to give you an increase–an abundant
increase of favor.” Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: That’s right. Amen.
Hallelujah. JERRY: So what is God saying to him? “I’m going to
empower you to prosper and I’m going to increase my favor on
your life.” AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: “And as a result
of it, people are going to know your name.” AUDIENCE: Amen.
JERRY: “They’re going to know there’s something different
about you.” Well, you say, “Well, that’s Abraham. What’s
that got to do with me?” Well, it has everything to do with you
because if you keep reading in the book of Genesis, you’ll find
out that God didn’t end this covenant with Abraham. In fact,
Genesis 17–let’s go there. Genesis 17:7, And God says, “I
will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed
after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to
be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.” Now, notice
very closely, God says, “This covenant is not going to end
with you, Abraham. I’m going to establish this covenant not only
between me and thee but your seed after you and their
generation.” AUDIENCE: Glory to God. JERRY: Now, you’ve got
to–you’ve got to pay close attention to that because he’s
now talking about you. He’s looking beyond Abraham, and he’s
seeing me and you. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: You might be
thinking, “How do I know that?” Well, just because the apostle
Paul tells us so. Let’s go to Galatians 3. I want you to see
it in your own Bible. Turn to Galatians 3, and let’s begin in
Verse 13, Verse 14, and then also Verse 29. Verse 13 says,
“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.” Now,
would you agree that Paul is including you in the word, “us,”
there? AUDIENCE: Yeah. Amen. JERRY: So he’s talking about you
and me, correct? AUDIENCE: Yes, sir. JERRY: Everybody agree with
that? AUDIENCE: Yes, sir. JERRY: So, “Christ hath redeemed us
from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is
written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Now,
Verse 14 explains why he did this, why was Christ made a
curse for us? “So that–” Verse 14, “So that–” Everybody say,
“So that.” AUDIENCE: So that. JERRY: “So that the blessing of
Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ;
that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.” Amen? AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: What is he saying? Jesus
was made a curse for us for this purpose so that that same
blessing that was on Abraham might now come on us. And right
along with that blessing comes the abundant increase of favor.
Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: Hallelujah. JERRY: Can you say,
“Amen”? AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: So you say, “Well, how do you
know for sure I’m included?” Well, look at Verse 29. Praise
God. “And if you be Christ’s–” Well, how do you become
Christ’s? Make Jesus the Lord of your life– AUDIENCE: That’s
right. JERRY: –and then you become one of his. “If you be
Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed.” I’m telling you, folks,
that’s you right there in the book of Galatians. AUDIENCE:
Amen. JERRY: “If you belong to Christ, then are you Abraham’s
seed, and an heir according to the promise.” AUDIENCE: Yes.
Amen. JERRY: That means, when God promised Abraham he would
bless him, he would empower him to prosper, he made that same
promise to you. You’re an heir to the promise. AUDIENCE: Yes.
JERRY: When God promised to cause an abundant increase in
favor to come on Abraham’s life, that includes you because you’re
an heir of the promise. AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: In fact,
every time you read Genesis 17:7 where it talks about “This
covenant is with Abraham, and his seed,” just shout right
then, “That’s me he’s talking about.” AUDIENCE: Come on.
That’s right. JERRY: His seed in their generation–you’re the
seed of Abraham in your generation. AUDIENCE: Amen.
JERRY: Don’t look at yourself as black or white, look at yourself
as the seed of Abraham. AUDIENCE: Yes! Oh, yeah. JERRY:
Don’t look at yourself as American or Nigerian or Kenyan.
Look at yourself as the seed of Abraham. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE:
Hallelujah. JERRY: Amen? And if you’re the seed of Abraham, you
have that same blessing. You have that same favor. Now, learn
how to walk in it. Hallelujah. AUDIENCE: Amen. Hallelujah.
JERRY: Somebody help me get excited. AUDIENCE: Woo! JERRY:
Praise God. AUDIENCE: Hallelujah. JERRY: We’re the
seed of Abraham, and that promise is just as much to us as
it was our father, Abraham. Can you say, “Amen”? AUDIENCE: Amen.
JERRY: I want you to say this out loud, “I am the seed of
Abraham–” (Audience Repeats) “–that makes me an heir
according to the promise. I have the blessing of Abraham. I have
the favor of Abraham. It’s mine. Jesus got it for me, and no man
can take it from me.” And give the Lord a good shout. Amen.
AUDIENCE: Hallelujah! JERRY: Praise God. Now, since you now
know that the blessing of God that was on Abraham’s life is
now on your life, the favor of God that was on Abraham’s life
is not on your life, and it’s your responsibility to learn how
to walk in this revelation. AUDIENCE: Amen. Yes. JERRY:
Amen. One of the ways that you do that is by decreeing this
every day of your life. AUDIENCE: Yeah, yeah. JERRY:
Amen. That’s how you begin to learn how to walk in it–
AUDIENCE: Thank you, Father. JERRY: –by decreeing it every
day of your life. There’s not a day goes by and throughout the
day that I’m not decreeing the favor of God on my life.
AUDIENCE: That’s right. Yes. JERRY: I say it all the time.
I–I say it in–in the presence of people who don’t even know
what I’m talking about. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: I’ve said
it at times where the person I said it to was not even a
believer, you know? I’ve had people say, “Why does this
happen to you?” I said, “The favor of God.” No, really, why
do these things keep happening?” It’s the favor of God. AUDIENCE:
Yeah. Amen. Come on. JERRY: You know, I attribute it all to the
favor of God. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: I’ve also noticed this.
Here’s another secret of learning how to walk in it.
I’ll talk about the decreeing a little more in just a moment.
But the more grateful you are for the favor of God, the more
it shows up in your life. AUDIENCE: Amen. Hallelujah.
JERRY: Amen? AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: The more grateful you are
for it, the more it shows up. In fact, the Lord taught me
years ago, “Every time my favor manifests, you stop right then
and you say out loud, ‘That was the favor of God.’ Give me
credit for it, and you’ll see it show up more and more and more.”
AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Amen. So one of the ways that you learn
to walk in it is be grateful for it and also decree it every day
of your life. Job 22:28 makes this powerful statement, “Thou
shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.”
Now, listen to that. “Thou shalt decree–” how do you decree? By
speaking it out of your mouth. AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: “Thou
shalt decree a thing–” What thing are we talking about?
Whatever God’s Word says. That’s what should be coming out of our
mouth. Don’t talk what CNN says. Don’t talk what, you know, the
so-called experts say. Talk what the Word says. “Thou shalt
decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.” In the
literal Hebrew, the word, “established,” means, “become a
common occurrence.” So what that’s saying is, the more you
talk the favor of God, the more it will occur in your life.
AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: “It will be established unto thee.”
AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: Can you say, “Amen”? AUDIENCE: Yes.
Amen. Amen. JERRY: Now, the Amplified Bible says, “You shall
also decide and decree a thing.” Now, that’s–that’s an important
part of this. Decide to do this. You can hear me talk about it,
and you can hear me talk about what it’ll produce, and you can
hear me talk about how wonderful it is. But until you decide to
do it, it’s not likely you’ll ever experience it. AUDIENCE:
That’s right. Amen. JERRY: Amen? You have to make a decision.
AUDIENCE: Amen. Yes. JERRY: So “decide–” the Amplified Bible
says, “decide and decree a thing, and it shall be
established for you.” And listen to this. The King James says the
latter part of that verse, “And the light shall shine upon thy
ways.” But the Amplified Bible says, “You shall also decide and
decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the
light of God’s favor shall shine upon your ways.” AUDIENCE: Amen.
JERRY: Wow. The more you talk about the favor of God, the more
it shines upon your ways. AUDIENCE: That’s right. That’s
good. JERRY: The more you decree the favor of God, the more it
manifests in your life. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: So what
should you be doing as soon as this broadcast is over? Talk the
favor of God. AUDIENCE: That’s right. Amen. JERRY: Amen. No
matter what you’re going through right now, talk the favor of
God. AUDIENCE: Yes, sir. JERRY: Talk the blessing of God.
AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: I mean, get to the point where you can
say with–with all confidence, “I’m not moved by what I see.”
AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: “I’m not moved by what I feel.
I’m not moved by what I hear. I’m moved only by what I
believe, regardless of my circumstances. I have the
blessing of God on my life.” AUDIENCE: Yes. Hallelujah.
JERRY: “I have the favor of God on my life.” And you keep
decreeing it, and eventually it will become a common occurrence
in your life, and the light of God’s favor is going to shine
upon your ways. AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: Somebody help me give the
Lord a shout. AUDIENCE: Woo! Hallelujah! JERRY: Amen? Praise
God. Favor, blessing belongs to you. AUDIENCE: Yes. JERRY: So
receive it and begin to learn to walk in it. Folks, you have a
right to walk in this every day of your life. It’s not something
God wants you experiencing just once every four or five years.
He wants you to experience it every day of your life. Praise

preaching this, living this. I know something about this. You
know, I promise you, I give you my word right now, I will never
write a book on physics. You know why? I don’t understand
them real good. (Laughter) I don’t know a whole lot about
physics. I had to take a course in high school. I passed it, and
then I threw the book away. Okay? (Laughter) So, I don’t
know a whole lot about physics, but I do know about the favor of
God. So that’s what I’m going to keep talking about, what I’m
going to keep preaching about, and keep writing about.
AUDIENCE: Amen. JERRY: I’ve done a lot of homework for you here.
Let me help you. AUDIENCE: That’s right. JERRY: Get these
resources. AUDIENCE: Right. JERRY: This book, “Walking in
Divine Favor,” listen to some of the chapters. It covers the same
material we’ve been talking about on the broadcast, but just
a little more in depth. “You’re Somebody Special to God”;
“Favor, A Gift From God”; Chapter 3, “Steps to Increasing
God’s Favor in Your Life”; Chapter 4, “Favor in a Time of
Trouble”; Chapter 5, “Favor Above and Beyond”; and then my
favorite chapter, “Ten Benefits of Walking in the Favor of God.”
That’s what you’re going to learn in this little book. You
can sit down and read this in a day, and then carry it around
and read it another day and another day until it becomes as
alive on the inside of you as it is me. And then the CD’s, three
CD’s on expecting God’s favor in your life, expecting God’s favor
in your life. You know, you–most of you drive to work.
You got that radio, and it’s probably got a disk, CD player
in there, or–or some way that you can listen. Don’t listen to,
you know, some of that stuff that’s coming across the
airwaves. Listen to something that is meaningful, something
that will help you go to another level in your life. AUDIENCE:
Right. JERRY: You can plug these in, listen to them on the way to
work, listen to them on the way back. This is like taking a
college course, praise God. But I’m telling you what. This’ll do
a whole lot more for you than a college degree, praise God. Why?
Because it’s the Word of God. So don’t delay. Order them right
now. All the ordering information is on the screen.
You can write, you can call, or you can log on to our website. I
want to thank you in advance for placing your order. Thank you,
