Falling Uphill: One man’s quest for happiness around the world on a bicycle

My claim to fame is that I rode a bicycle around the world. Over 26,000 miles. 50 countries. 6 continents. [Laughing.] This is a 33% grade. Ugh! Into a headwind. I asked for this. I can’t complain. [Laughing.] [Singing.] If I could do that, I could do anything.

Well after all that you found out the meaning of life…There is none! Oh….yeah…wait….it's writing a book for money…forgot…carry on! Money…it's what we are all judged by. Destroy someone and nothing. Steal money…they will beat you are jail you for a long time. What a positive outlook??!! 😉

I'm just screwing around out of boredom….don't take me seriously. I appreciate the inquisitive response though. I used to race but, I am now getting into long distance riding. I'm finding problems with the amount of crap and weight you need. Kind of defeats the whole–you and the bike and that's it dream.

actually i just like you, and i wanna do something like that, my question is where do you get the food, and for across different continent you need money for travelled by ship or plane???

i think this is very inspirational and i hope that one day i get to do that too but i would like to do it in a motorbike or a quad inside of a pushbike and a person to ride along side or with as it will be very lonely

hahaha this is exactly what ive been planning to do…….just hit the road and go where ever it takes you and never stop……auswem that im not the only person out there that wants to do this…..

was there any type of underlining reason to do this…I have no idea what to do with my life and have felt that way since I was 20…Im now 25 I've always wanted to just "leave" in a sort…find myself so to speak..anyway I was just wondering if you felt the same way I do…and if that was your reason.

hey do you guys want to know why this is fake! There are only 7000 and somthing miles in this world! this guy is a freakin FAKE!

great respect mate . but you should have made a docu…this is too short and you leave wanting afterwards after watching this

How could anyone and I mean anyone, mark this as a dislike?
Jealousy methinks, but why? This guy took life by the balls and came out the other side of his spiritual journey a victor. He is an inspiration to the big questions ''why am I here'' or ''who am I''. Peace is within but modern society will hypnotise you into thinking its the latest car or ipad!!
Scotty I salute you.
After all we are ''Cosmic mariners, destination unknown".

What would you tell someone thinking of doing this? Is this for everyone? Or is this an endeavor you undertake when like you said, you have nothing left to lose?

Congratulations and respect for courage to do something like that and to make it in one piece! I will definitely order a book since I was thinking about doing the same thing for a long time now, if my plans dont work out. Let's say I am on a life crossroads now and one way could carry me in this direction. I just want to know one thing – what about the money, how did you buy/get food, drink, bike gear and expendable equipment like tyres, breaks or anything that broke down… clothes…?

Would also like to know how you solved the problem of "money".
I had the idea to make a tour like you, but there was one problem 🙂

Thanks. Loved the quote. Saw it was on a bench that doubled as a tombstone. I want one when I die. A bench inscribed with: "If you could do anything, what would you do?"

I would say this is a metaphor for everyone's journey through life, one many consider a great thing to do, but remember if you have the eyes, you can make every moment an adventure.

scott your book is as inspirational as jon krakuer's "Into the Wild" or Aaron Ralston's "Between a Rock and a Hard Place" you are a very good author and a very brave man, more people need to know about your book.

Answers to all those questions can be found on my website (above in video description). However the simple answer is that there is no answer. You must learn basic survival skills and trust yourself to do what needs to be done. Good luck on your adventure. I hope you find what you are looking for, and most certainly it will be even more than you imagined.

Thanks Luke that's high praise. It is an "uphill" climb to get my book noticed by people that would find value in it. An Amazon review always helps get it linked into the network of good books.

Thank you, i will definitely look into that (your website and book) because as I sad, I plan on doing something like that anyway. If things go down – around the world, like you, but if my plans work out, then at least around the europe on summer holiday

You can try ordering it at your local bookstore or library. And no, I'm not done traveling. There are so many places I still haven't been.

I just read Scott's book! One fantastic journey, great writing, superb humor, fun times, amazing moments, surprising delights, heart racing animal stories, encouraging human drama, new friends and more fun than you can shake a stick at! Plus, four moments of life's answers! Frosty Wooldridge, 6 continent world bicycle traveler

It is even impossible to go straight across the world by bike. You have oceans, mountains end rivers that block your road. There's another guy who did this all in 196 days and still holds the world record.

If I could do anything, I would say to every single child that yes they can do it, be the best, it just takes persistance, hard work and guts, especially for those from poor families. The only thing that's stopping you is you!

i just dream to globe cycling but still collect money to normal family support..hope some day could do it..and take photos to share enjoyment by cycling..

Awesome video.  Would love to do something like this.  How did you fund this trip?  Seems like it would cost a ton, especially seems difficult with no income.

we all need someone to lead us, we just need to exert effort in finding the most sensible preacher of all time, and search and join a good and nice-hearted fellowship . . .

where are you now, Scott? I love bicycle touring! Kudos to you in taking on all those adventures! I had a 2.5 mo adventure touring this summer, but 4 years? wow! All the best!

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Prelude to Infinity War

Before creation itself, there existed six singularities of immense power. When the universe exploded into being, their remnants were forged into concentrated ingots possibly by the Cosmic Entities Infinity, Entropy, Eternity and Death. Over time, the infinity stones representing Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Soul and Time became scattered across the …
